Here is a logo I designed recently for a software application called SAM. It is short for ‘Stormwater Analysis Module’.
The application is for an architectural & engineering company. The software assists designers in taking the right path to compliance when designing stormwater systems, while assisting the reviewing authority in making sure a permit applicant followed the correct process. It combines the knowledge of the Erosion and Sediment Pollution Control methods, plus knowledge of stormwater process with the ability to store design data and assist
in the decision-making process.
SAM’s new logo visually shows water going through a stormwater drain. The bottom of the drain is very uniform with justified lettering spelling out the full name of the software application. The logo implies logic, order, and process – all of which the application itself assists in during the design and permit evaluation phases. Using all capital letters and justified spacing for Stormwater Analysis Module also creates a sheet of paper looking
effect at the bottom of the logo which signifies the simplification of paper work this application performs.
