Implementing Web Fonts @font-face

Author: Chris | Filed under: General

After experimenting with Web Fonts last month I decided to start using them on my Portfolio site as well as this Design Blog. Note You’ll only see this effect with the most modern web browsers. If you are not using the latest versions of Firefox or Safari you should really upgrade now! I have provided screenshots below for your viewing so you can see what you are missing.

I was slightly concerned with going live with a famous font like Helvetica or Futura which each cost some money, especially with all the copyright concerns I hear coming from the Type Foundries. I went with a couple nice freeware fonts instead.

This Blog uses a basic, san serif font called Vegur created at dot colon. You can find the font at various free font sites.

My Design Portfolio site, CDF Design, uses New Cicle another basic, san serif font created at La Tipomatika.

What do you think? How’s it work from your perspective?
